Signing the Pledge

No one at Mila can have any doubt about the importance this business places on creating a safe and healthy workplace. Having experienced our own Mila Health and Safety week at the end of November, everyone in the team was last week given access to ASSA ABLOY’s Safety First training as well.

It was a clear demonstration, I hope, of how staff wellbeing is firmly embedded right at the heart of our group culture.  What was most evident was the equal emphasis given by both Mila and ASSA ABLOY to mental and physical health. It was particularly good to see the risks associated with stress, depression and anxiety covered alongside practical hazard identification and avoidance.

The figures on safety achievements and improvements made across the group are already quite impressive. Lost time injury rates reduced from 1.27 in 2021 to 0.88 in 2022 and there were more safety improvements raised last year than the year before and many more closed out – evidence of how actively engaged people are with a mission of continuous improvement.

It’s obviously an ongoing process though so, with that in mind, we’re asking everyone here in Daventry to physically sign a new Safety Resolutions Pledge. It’s designed to remind us to ‘actively improve, take ownership, work together and learn from our mistakes’.

Once it’s complete, we’ll be displaying it somewhere prominent around the building so if you’re ever a visitor here at Mila, be sure to look out for it.
