It’s Official

It was September 2021 when contracts were exchanged to sell 100% of the share capital in Arran Isle Group, which owns Mila, to ASSA ABLOY.

Since then, the regulatory wheels have been turning and we’ve been waiting for the acquisition to be approved – first by the UK Competition and Market Authorities (CMA) and then by the Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (CCPC) in Ireland.

The CMA approved the deal in April, but it was only last week that we got the go ahead from the CCPC, so I’m delighted to finally be able to confirm that Mila is now officially part of ASSA ABLOY.

As I’ve said all the way along, in all the negotiations that have taken place and in all the private and public communications we’ve had from ASSA ABLOY, they’ve made it clear how much they value the Mila business and everything that we stand for.

For customers and suppliers, I want to emphasise that it will be business as usual here moving forward, with the added benefit that we are now part of a larger, well-capitalised international group.

Our focus will be on continuing to deliver what Harry Warrender, the Senior Vice President and Head of ASSA ABLOY Opening Solutions UK and Ireland, described as our ‘consistently great service’, coupled of course with outstanding delivery performance and high-quality products.

All the management teams and staff at Mila will remain the same and none of our operational activities will be impacted by the change in ownership. However, now that the deal is finally done, we can start exploring some exciting new opportunities for the business.
