It was probably a mistake to flick back at last year’s Christmas blog post before I started writing this one – given that I said in there that I hoped 2022 would bring fewer challenges than 2020 or 2021!
Clearly, I hadn’t factored in the war in Ukraine and the impact that would have on inflation, energy costs, and overall market confidence, or the political upheaval we’ve experienced in the UK. However, this industry never fails to amaze me – once again, we’ve come through remarkably unscathed and with the same determination to adapt and thrive no matter what market and economic conditions we all face.
For Mila, 2022 this was the year when we officially become part of the Assa Abloy group. So far, I think we’re all enjoying adapting to being part of something bigger, without sacrificing any of the characteristics which make us distinctly Mila – and which I know so many of our customers really value.
With the backing of the group, we’ll be making some significant investments here in 2023 – most significantly in the Mila Test Centre, where there will be new facilities, a new testing programme and a new team under the leadership of the highly experienced Dave Vinyard delivering what we hope is the most customer focused service in the industry. We’ll be launching a new website for the Test Centre very soon, so keep your eye on mila.co.uk for the link.
In line with most of the industry, Mila will be closed for the Christmas and New Year holidays from 12.30pm on Friday, 23 December until 8.30am on Tuesday, 3 January – while we all take some time to rest and recharge.
