Next week sees the return of the FIT Show to the NEC in Birmingham. While Mila won’t be exhibiting this time around, I’ll definitely be visiting, along with several of the sales and marketing team.
For me, it’s always an unmissable opportunity to meet up with friends and colleagues from across the industry, as well as to keep on track of any new product launches and significant industry news.
After last year’s event which was rescheduled from 2021 because of Covid, this year’s FIT Show seems to have come around a bit too soon for many. But the organisers have confirmed that there won’t be another show now until 2025, so I’m still expecting visitor numbers to be pretty high.
I’ve been asked why Mila isn’t exhibiting – given the fact that we’ve had a stand at several previous FIT Shows. For us, it’s mostly about timing and about not having the kind of major new product launch planned for this Spring/Summer which would justify such a significant investment. We have got lots of new things planned obviously (particularly for the aluminium market) but these are timed for launch later this year.
Mila remains an enthusiastic supporter of FIT though and I personally believe the industry needs this kind of dedicated show and would certainly be poorer without it.
