After a couple of years away because of Covid and the pressures that brought to the whole market, we’ll be back at the G-22 Awards in November – and shortlisted in the New Product of the Year category for our SupaSecure™ letterplate.
I’m genuinely thrilled by this – it obviously gives us a great chance to show off what is already proving a popular product, but it also means we can give the whole Mila team behind this fantastic new letterplate their chance to shine.
When our product development team set out to create the SupaSecure™ letterplate last year, they started by asking a raft of customers what their ideal TS008 compliant letterplate would look like, and then delivered pretty much exactly what they asked (with all the reliable Mila quality and service on top!)
In fact, Mila did what, at the time, most of our competitors had found practically impossible – we designed a letterplate which would meet the tricky anti-fishing and anti-lock manipulation requirements of TS008, but which was still compact, stylish and easy to fit in standard apertures.
Our shortlisted SupaSecure™ letterplate incorporates clever, patent-pending anti-fishing fins and an angled postal ramp. These safely restrict the opening to a maximum of 80° and deflect items upwards, which makes fishing impossible.
If you add to that the fact that the SupaSecure™ letterplate projects internally by just 45mm so that it appeals to homeowners and can be fitted straight from the box in less than two minutes to appeal to fabricators, then you can see why it’s been picked as one of the best new products of the last 12 months. To actually win this award though, we know it’s not enough just to have a well-designed product. You also need a successful marketing campaign and impressive sales figures – and I can confidently say that, with the SupaSecure™ letterplate, we have both.
Looking at the other shortlisted products, there’s obviously some tough competition but, win or lose on the Awards night, we’re looking forward to a great evening catching up with friends and colleagues and celebrating all that the whole industry has achieved over the past 12 months.
