There’s only one Amanda – or is there?! We affectionately call her Panda or Pand for short. For 25 years she has been at the heart of Mila &, quite frankly, we’d be lost without her.

In this staff centric role, Amanda makes sure that we are all happy and, most importantly, ensures that we all get paid! She has a bucket load of integrity, is a great listener and will never ever divulge a secret! She looks after new comers and long serving personnel alike, sorts our pensions and even makes sure we get a flu jab every year!

Amanda is PA to our MD, Richard Gyde. In a nutshell, for 25 years she has kept him fed, watered and organised. In fact, she looks after all of our directors really – booking meeting rooms, sorting agendas, organising paper work, taking and making phone calls, sending and delivering post. What a gem!

Pand coordinates the global travel at Mila HQ and the mountain of associated paper work that goes with it including planes, trains, taxis, visas, passports, foreign currency, accommodation – we’re worn out just thinking about it!

Pand was leading the way in hot beverages before coffee became trendy. She has an enviable choice of teas – rooibos, green, mint, Yorkshire – plus all of the Nespresso options, chai and even hot chocolate. There’s always milk in the fridge and biccies in the tin (if you ask nicely, she might even let you have the really nice ones which she saves for visitors!) She serves a pretty yummy buffet lunch when we have guests and occasionally she’ll even reward us with Pizza Friday if we’ve cause to celebrate.

Amanda won the very first Unsung Hero award at the G Awards in 2015.  We nominated her to be recognised amongst the best in the industry for the raft of crucial behind-the-scenes roles which she coordinates – and she only went and won! Yes Pand!

Outside of work, Amanda is a keen DIYer with her husband. She loves nothing more than rolling up her sleeves and getting stuck in to her latest project. When she’s not plastering, sanding, painting, fixing pipes, fitting kitchens or putting up fences she loves walking her dog, watching a movie and she’s rather partial to a cheese sandwich.
