We’ve just received our brand new certificate from BSI confirming that Mila is now accredited to the ISO9001:2015 quality standard – the revised version of ISO9001:2008.
While this in itself would be a fine achievement, what makes it particularly special is that, when we were audited by BSI to transition from the 2008 to the 2015 standard, we received a 100% score.
The audit looked at how we manage our operations, products and services in line with ISO9001, and it extended to everything from planning and assessing risk to communications and responding to customer feedback.
Businesses can be recommended for the transition if they achieve a score of 80% or above on the audit with no more than 5 minor non-conformances, but it’s nice to know that our 100% score puts us very much in the premier league, right up there with some of the UK’s leading businesses.
What it says about Mila, I think, is that quality management is truly ingrained within our culture. It’s a team effort and every department from sales to supply chain has to play their part. Clearly, the audit recognised that as well with not only single area identified as requiring improvement.
I’d like to extend my personal thanks to our Quality Manager Alan Peel for all the work he does on ensuring that Mila’s processes are always absolutely up to scratch, but also to everyone within the business who continues to live up to the Mila promise that ‘Quality and Service is in our DNA’.
