The nominations for this year’s G-Awards were revealed last week and it was fantastic to see Mila shortlisted in the Component Supplier of the Year category once again.
We’re the current holders of that title and we’ll certainly be battling hard to win a G-18 trophy to sit alongside our G-17 one.
The Component Supplier category is obviously open to almost any supplier, so we find ourselves up against a hugely diverse range of businesses – from spacer bar manufacturers to integral blind suppliers. We’re all obviously being judged on our performance over the past year, which for Mila has been all about new product innovation, forging new partnerships, and of course our unrelenting focus on achieving a market leading 99% OTIF. The whole team here have worked incredibly hard this year and I know we’ve done even better than we did in 2017, so it will be very interesting to see who comes out on top.
It’s easy to be cynical about awards nights I know, but the G-Awards really do recognise the best of the best in this industry. As I see it, anything which promotes and rewards quality and best practice is to be applauded and encouraged. Mila itself has recently been announced as one of the sponsors of the awards – not because it will make the slightest bit of difference whether we win anything or not, but because we think the G-Awards are worth backing.
We won’t find out who has won until the big night on Friday 30th November of course, but we’ll all have our fingers crossed until then and it promises to be a very exciting night.
