From Russia with Hope

I’m back on my bike again and asking one more time for sponsorship to support the amazing work of the Hope House Children’s Hospices in Oswestry and Conwy.

By the time you read this, I’ll no doubt have pedalled several hundred of the 2780 miles in this latest GM Fundraising challenge dubbed ‘From Russia with Hope’, and, fingers crossed, the team will be well on our way from the Russian border where we set off from and heading towards the finishing line in Oswestry.

En route, we’ll be passing through 12 countries in 11 days and tackling 34,000 ft of climbing. We’ll even be cycling inside the Arctic circle in Finland which promises to be quite an experience.

This is being billed as the final GM Fundraising charity bike ride for men and I’m proud to say that I’ve taken part in every one since the Eiffel Tower to Blackpool Tower ride way back in 2006. I haven’t worked out how many miles I’ve cycled in total but, if you consider that I’ve ridden Route 66, USA Coast to Coast and Border to Border from Canada to Mexico, it’s definitely in the thousands rather than the hundreds!

Over the years, I’ve been overwhelmed by the generosity shown by customers, friends and colleagues who have dug deep to support my efforts. I don’t need to emphasise how amazing these children’s hospices are or how inspirational the work they do is to really make a difference to the lives of the children and families they support. So, if you can spare any amount to sponsor me this time around, I’d be incredibly grateful.

I’ve set myself a target of raising £10,000 to help Hope House and, thanks to some incredible generosity from across the industry, I’m well on the way. My sponsorship page is here: https://www.justgiving.com/fundraising/gydefrwh. Please support me if you can.

Richard
