There are a number of pieces on the BBC News website today which I suspect are ringing a few alarm bells for customers focused on the budget or even maybe mainstream sectors of the PVC-U market.

As well as the struggles of the fast fashion brand Missguided and a sharp fall in the value of shares at the budget retailer B&M, there’s also an interview with the Finance Director at Primark in which he says, unsurprisingly, that he expects less affluent customers to be buying less this year.

The squeeze on living costs will obviously disproportionately affect those on lower and middle incomes and over time that is likely to feed its way into the window and door market.
