There is a standard formula which describes the handing of windows/doors. The diagrams below show our interpretation of the left hand and right hand sashes. Our formula is to always hand the sash from the hinge side (normally, but not always) inside the room. If in any doubt, supply where possible a sketch of the window or door installation showing the opening direction of the sash.
