Mila Hardware has announced a number of significant enhancements to its 8-series shootbolt, which is now being branded the Prolinea Shootbolt Espag within Mila’s mid-tier product range.
The 8-series has been popular with fabricators since its launch in 2002 primarily because it provides exceptional levels of security for customers through an effective combination of two mushroom headed steel cams and stainless steel shootbolts.
Secured by Design licensed and BBA approved, Mila says that it is also now 25% stronger with a smoother and more robust design as a result of the company’s ongoing product development programme.
The Prolinea Shootbolt Espag has a new reverse action gearbox design developed by Mila in house featuring internal guides which make it smoother and more durable in operation. To demonstrate this, it has already been successfully tested to 50,000 cycles at Mila’s UKAS accredited independent test centre.
For fabricators, the shootbolt espag features a new slide tag to make it quicker and easier to fit, and it is now available in a single size which can accommodate both standard and reduced depth eurogrooves.
Richard Gyde, Mila’s Managing Director, said: “The Prolinea Shootbolt is essentially an improved version of the much loved 8-series. We have listened to what customers said about the product and how they would like to see it improved and we have responded to them.”
The Prolinea Shootbolt Espag continues to be available with the option of a 20mm or 22mm backset and with either 8mm or 9mm adjustable (+/-1mm) mushroom cams.
