When Mila Hardware launched its Evolution anti-manipulation cylinder and high security door handle in May last year, it confidently predicted that it had developed a solution which would open up new sales opportunities for customers in the retail sector.

In 2009, Mila Hardware launched seven major new products – more it believes than any of their competitors and in 2010 – its 30th anniversary year – it is planning to launch a further 10.

In 2010, Mila Hardware celebrates its 30th anniversary.   It is a time of course for celebration – and I hope there will be much of that during the year – but also for a degree of reflection as to what we have achieved since 1980 and what we still want to achieve in the future.

During 2009, Mila Hardware undertook an extensive e-marketing campaign sending out regular e-shots to existing and potential customers and specifiers.

For much of the last decade, the window and door industry in the UK felt like a real success story.  Volumes were up and profits were being made.  We responded well to the changing demands in the market for windows and doors which were ever more secure and, of course, energy efficient.

Mila Hardware has received an independent endorsement of the quality and durability of its Evolution high security door handle with a maximum Grade 4 rating in a recent BS EN1906 test carried out at Exova Warrington.

Arran Isle Ltd has completed its acquisition of all of the subsidiaries of Heywood Williams plc including Mila Hardware, under the terms of the agreement which was announced on 20 October.

There was a heavy police presence at Mila Hardware recently when the company hosted a Security Hardware Showcase at its UKAS accredited Mila Test Centre.

Mila Hardware has announced a number of significant enhancements to its 8-series shootbolt, which is now being branded the Prolinea Shootbolt Espag within Mila’s mid-tier product range.

With effect from 20 October 2009, Mila Hardware is now owned by Arran Isle Ltd, a new company which has acquired all of the operating subsidiaries of our previous parent Heywood Williams Group plc.
