Mila benchmarks its systems and performance against the very best companies in other industries.

We’ve got senior people in our team from FMCG and automotive backgrounds and I’m really proud that we’ve been able to take on board some of the processes and systems from these other sectors and that they’ve helped to make Mila a better business.

For me, it’s not a question of simply copying what they do but making a decision to set our standards as high as they have and to look for ways that we can match these bigger operations in terms of service and innovation.

I’ve noticed recently though that, whilst we've benchmarked ourself against companies outside of this sector, we now find ourselves the subject of what I can only describe as benchmarking exercises from within our own industry.

I see competitors mimicking our products, echoes of specific content from our website on competitors’s sites and I’ve noticed people offering packages of product testing similar to that available via our UKAS test centre.

Of course, this could all be coincidence but, if it isn’t, I’m not sure whether to be angry that others could be accused of trying to copy Mila, flattered that we are now recognised as setting the standard or just pleased that the industry is seeking to achieve new levels of excellence.

Let me know what you think.
